Tibetan Associations in Europe Hold its Fourth General Meeting in Amsterdam
The Tibet Bureau in Geneva and the Netherlands Tibetan Association jointly organised the 4th General Meeting of the Tibetan Association in Europe from 31 August to 1 September 2024 in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The meeting was held at the Parl Inn Hotel in Amsterdam.
Representatives from Tibetan Associations in seven countries participated in this gathering, Tibetan Parliamentarian Ven. Thupten Wangchen, Tibetan Parliamentarian Thubten Gyatso, Representative Thinlay Chukki of the Tibet Bureau, Representative Sonam Tsering Frasi of the office of Tibet in London, Belgium Representative Rigzin Choedon Genkhang, France Coordinator Thupten Tsering; and vice-chairmen of Tibetan Associations from six countries.
The meeting began with opening remarks by Representative Thinley Chukki, followed by addresses from Representative Genkhang, Representative Frasi, and the two Europe-based Tibetan parliamentarians.
Over the course of the two-day meeting, deliberations covered a range of topics, including preparing arrangements for the upcoming 90th birthday celebration of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Tibetan National Uprising Day, as well as about the Tibetan Weekend Schools.
On the second day, the 4th General Meeting of the Tibetan Association in Europe promulgated a declaration rejecting interferences and misappropriation in selecting His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama’s reincarnation.
Representatives from Switzerland, the Netherlands, Germany, France, Austria, Czech Republic and Italy participated in the meeting.
