His Holiness the Dalai Lama Arrives in Nubra
NUBRA: His Holiness the Dalai Lama arrived this morning at Thoise Airbase in Nubra Valley in Ladakh in the north India state of Jammu & Kashmir.
His Holiness was warmly received by Thiksey Rinpoche, LAHDC acting president Gyal Wangyal, Nubra MLA Dedhen Namgyal, President of Ladakh Buddhist Association Nubra, SDM, and a representative from Muslim community, Ama Association, Youth Association.
“His Holiness the Dalai Lama will grace the 6th Ladakh Yarchoe Chenmo going to be held at Samstenling Monastery,” said Geshe Tsultrim Tharchin, organising committee member.
He also mentioned that under the guidance of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, the Ladakh Yarchoe Chenmo is based on secular debate inviting different background and religion to participate in it.
His Holiness the Dalai Lama will address the students on ‘Secular Ethics’.
His Holiness the Dalai Lama will give a teaching on ‘Eight verse thought training’ (Lojong Tsegyma) and ‘In praise of dependent origination’(Tendrel Toepe) to the public of Nubra valley in the morning. In the afternoon His Holiness will visit a local mosque and meet with 170 Muslim; 40 from Turtuk, 30 from Bogdong and 100 from Nubra.
Disket Monastery was founded by Changzem Tserab Zangpo, a disciple of Tsong Khapa in 1433.
