Kalon Karma Gelek Yuthok official visit to Vienna, Austria
Geneva: Kalon Karma Gelek Yuthok, Department of Religion & Culture, Central Tibetan Administration accompanied by Representative Ngodup Dorjee, OOT Geneva arrived at Vienna International airport on 11 July.
They were received by Mr. Tsering Namgyal President of Tibetan Community Austria and Ven. Bop Jon Sunim, Friendensstupa Austria.
In the evening Kalon attended the Tibetan Community meeting at Penchen Lobsang Chogyen Gelug Zentrum where he spoke about the need to pay more attention to the Tibetan Culture, unity among Tibetans and to live an ethical life. He further stressed that if Tibetan seriously follow the teachings and the advice of His Holiness the Dalai Lama then this would bring more happiness in our society, longevity life to His Holiness, which is the ultimate benefit to both this and afterlife.
Later at the invitation of the Korean monk Ven. Bop Jon Sunim, Kalon visited the World peace Stupa at Grafenworth.
On 12 July morning, Kalon called on Mr. Alfred Riedi, Mayor and President of Municipal of Grafenworth who explained the brief history of the important World peace Stupa. He also mentioned that he was looking forward to the visit of His Holiness the Dalai Lama to bless this Stupa in near future which was followed by an exchange of gifts.
Thereafter Kalon visited Roman Catholic Monastery along with Mayor. They were warmly received by Abbot and other religious figures of the Monastery.
They discussed the importance of religious harmony looking into the present situation of conflict in the world. The Catholic monastery was built before 900 years under the lineage of Romisch Katholisches Klosterder Augustiner.
Kalon then met with the President and the Vice President of Save Tibet Austria and expressed his gratitude for their untiring support to the Tibetan cause until now and the need to continue in future.
On 12th evening, Kalon left for the final leg of his official visit to England. Representative Ngodup Dorjee, Tsering Namgyal, President of TGO, Ven. Sunim, his Assistant Mrs Isabella and others were at the Vienna airport to see him off.
This concludes the official visit of Kalon to Switzerland and Austria.
