Trending This Week on Social Media: His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s Advice to Young Students in Ladakh

As a human being, we all want to live a happy life and we don’t want to see ourselves in a miserable stage at all! Ironically, we are constantly engaging on social media sites where we see disruptive images, information on natural calamities or even fake news!
However, we see a ray of hope when we read about uplifting stories. And also we feel positive vibes when seeing beautiful pictures of beautiful souls.
Without a slightest doubt, His Holiness the Dalai Lama is the most revered spiritual personality whom we look up to as a spiritual teacher, who constantly remind us about how to live a meaningful life towards one another as we are a part of 7 billion human beings!
Wherever His Holiness goes, he consistently propagates the oneness of humanity as one of his principal commitments towards betterment of humanity on this planet earth. Even at this age, he travels constantly; often see school children and articulates his vision with them for eco-friendly prosperity on the mother earth.
Speaking of which, let me take you quick tour of His Holiness meeting with students at the Model Public School, the Lamdon Public school and Spring Dales Public School in Ladakh this past week.
At the Model Public school, His Holiness stressed on keeping emotional hygiene to attain mental fitness. He substantiated his point by citing ancient Indian knowledge that has provided the development of single-pointed concentration which in turn keeps our mind and emotions in balance. He stated it is very much relevant in today’s academics that should be learnt as a secular context.
As a pioneer of inter-religious harmony, His Holiness was happy to see no religious discrimination at the Lamdon Model School and appreciated the efforts of teachers and staff for enrolling Muslim students, the school that truly lives up to its name ( Lamdon meaning in Tibetan-an exemplar).
While addressing the students at the Spring Dales Public School, His Holiness explained the crisis of the 20th Century that has failed in the restoration of peace in the world. However, he reminded every individual carries a big responsibility in shaping of the 21st century as a century of peace and dialogue. His Holiness said ‘Love binds Anger divides.’ To everyones understanding, he explained ‘anger weakens our immune system and love and compassion strengthens our immune system.’
