Trentino for Tibet and Tibetan Community in Italy organized a ceremonial function at the bell of Fallen in Rovereto celebrating the 85th birthday of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, and marking the first anniversary of hoisting Tibetan National Flag at the Bell of Peace aka Bell of Fallen in Rovereto, Italy.
In the presence of Sikyong Dr. Lobsang Sangay, the Tibetan National flag was unfurled at the bell of Peace, during his last visit to Italy, July 2019. Since then, in an honor of peaceful and non-violent struggle of Tibetan people, Tibetan National Flag has been standing with other 96 flags at the Bell of Fallen, the world’s largest bell honouring the fallen of all wars and promoting peace and brotherhood among all peoples of the world.
Expressing deepest gratitude to His Holiness the Dalai Lama for his untiring precious guidance, love and compassion, Representative Chhimey Rigzen thanked Trentino for Tibet and all Tibet supporters for their unwavering support for the just cause of Tibet. “The autonomous status and self-governing enjoyed by Trento Province are a learning model that His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Central Tibetan Administration envisage in obtaining a genuine autonomy for Tibetan people on the basis of Middle Way Approach”, said Representative Chhimey in the statement. Due to COVID-19 pandemic, the statement was delivered by the Tibetan community representative on his behalf.
While highlighting the Year of Gratitude to Thank His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Representative Chhimey Rigzen encouraged and invited all friends of Tibet in Italy to observe the gratitude year by organizing events dedicated to thanking His Holiness the Dalai Lama for his benevolence for the entire humanity.
