Geneva: Tibet Bureau Geneva and representatives from Swiss-Tibetan Friendship Association met to discuss action plans for Tibet in the French-speaking part of Switzerland, especially in Geneva. The meeting was held at the Tibet Bureau Geneva on 24 June 2021.
President of the Association Thomas Büchli, Former Parliamentarian and Mayor René Longet and Former Councilor of City of Geneva Marguerite Contat met with Representative of Tibet Bureau Geneva Chhimey Rigzen and the staff members Sonam Therchin, Thinlay Chukki and Kalden Tsomo.
A wide range of issues were discussed at the meeting including future Tibet advocacy plans, grassroots level advocacy work and policy matters at the cantonal and city level of Geneva.
On behalf of the Tibet Bureau Geneva Thinlay Chhuki presented a brief presentation on the democratic structure of the Central Tibetan Administration with an overview of the role and responsibilities of the Tibet Bureau.
Representative Chhimey Rigzen thanked President Thomas Büchli and representatives of the Romande section of the Swiss-Tibetan Friendship Association Renè Longet and Marguerite Contat for their unwavering solidarity and support for Tibet.
Representative Chhimey further commended their contribution and advocacy for Tibet, including the initiative of hoisting Tibetan National Flags in front of the municipality office of Onex for all these years.
