Geneva: As part of the Central Tibetan Administration’s year of gratitude to His Holiness the Dalai Lama, the Tibetan Community of Switzerland and Liechtenstein presented to His Holiness the Dalai Lama a gold-coated gratitude statue depicting the great 14th Dalai Lama of Tibet.
His Holiness the Dalai Lama turned 86 years old this July. Coinciding with the anniversary, the statue was presented to express profound gratitude to His Holiness the Dalai Lama, protector of the Land of Snow for his far-sighted guidance to Tibetans, and for his message and untiring work for the promotion of universal responsibility, peace, and compassion for the benefit of the entire humanity.
Referring to the four principal commitments of His Holiness the Dalai Lama: promotion of human values, encouraging religious harmony, preserving Tibetan language and culture, and reviving ancient Indian knowledge based on Nalanda tradition, the community presented the gratitude statue with “His Holiness the great 14th Dalai Lama of Tibet: Pre-eminent Nalanda’s scholar of the 21st century” inscribed on the throne.
The community presented the statue with fervent devotion and prayers for His Holiness the Dalai Lama to live for hundreds of eons and for his aspirations to be fulfilled without any hindrance.
