Thinlay Chukki, Former Special Appointee for Human Rights at Tibet Bureau, Geneva has been appointed as the new Representative of His Holiness the Dalai Lama at the same office.
The circular states:
As per Article 19 (1) of the Public Service Commission’s rules and regulations, Representatives of His Holiness the Dalai Lama at the Offices of Tibet must be appointed by the Kashag in the attendance of Sikyong and the Kalons. Thinlay Chukki is appointed as the Representative of His Holiness the Dalai Lama at Tibet Bureau Geneva Office of Tibet effective 22 June 2022.
Brief Bio of Thinlay Chukki :
Ms. Thinlay Chukki is a Harvard Law School graduate with an LL.M degree (2018), a National Law School of India Graduate with an LL.M degree in Business Laws (2012) and has LL.B degree from SDM Law College, Mangalore University with distinction and three gold medals.
She served as the Special Appointee for Human Rights at theOffice of Representative of His Holiness the Dalai Lama for Central and Eastern Europe, The Tibet Bureau, Geneva from September 2019 to August 2021. Prior to this she worked as a researcher at the UN-EU and Human Rights Desk of the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA), Dharamshala, India for a year in 2018-2019.
She has also translated for His Holiness the Dalai Lama on several occasions.
She has represented Tibetans at UN including UN Human Rights Council and has been invited to speak at several international conferences including C20 Conference 2020, Saudi Arabia and at UN Side-Events. Prior to joining CTA, she headed the South-India Legal Department of TATA Motors in India responsible for 6 States and 3 Union Territories in South India.
