Tibet Initiative Deutschland Commemorates its 35th Founding Anniversary, His Holiness Greets the Members on the Occasion

On the 35th founding anniversary of the Tibet Initiative Deutschland (TID), celebrated in Berlin, Germany, on 8 June 2024, His Holiness the Dalai Lama sent a greeting message to all the members of TID.

Tenzin Choesang from the Tibet Bureau read the message from His Holiness the Dalai Lama before the gathering during celebration. In the message, His Holiness “appreciated and thanked for the commendable contribution that our Tibet Support Group in Germany (TID) has been making all these years.”

While acknowledging the remarkable contributions of TID to the cause of Tibet, including its unwavering support for the preservation and promotion of Tibetan culture, His Holiness expressed gratitude to all members for their continued assistance in the Tibetan people’s aspirations to regain freedom and dignity and also towards making this world a better place for all.

The ceremony was attended by German Parliamentarian honourable Michael Brand, who is also the co-chair of the Parliamentary Group for Tibet in Germany; the members of the Tibetan Parliament-in-exile Ven. Thupten Wangchen and Thupten Gyatso; Chairman of TID Wolfgang Grader; Tenzin Choesang, a staff at the Tibet Bureau Geneva; Taiwanese Representative Prof. Shieh; ICT executive Director Kai Muller; and President of the Tibetan Association in Germany, along with other guests and members of TID.

The Tibet Initiative Deutschland was formed in 1989 to stand in solidarity with the Tibetan movement for freedom and justice. TID is one of the most important Tibet Support Groups in Germany.
