Tibetan Parliament’s Europe Tibet Advocacy Begins in Switzerland
A Tibetan Parliamentary delegation consisting of parliamentarians Geshe Atong Rinchen Gyaltsen, Lobsang Gyatso Sither, and Tenzin Choezin commenced their official Europe Tibet advocacy efforts in Geneva, Switzerland.
Upon their arrival in Geneva airport in Switzerland on 19 October, the Tibetan MPs were received by Representative Thinley Chukki, UN advocacy officer Phuntsok Topgyal, Chinese liaison officer Sangay Kyab, and accountant Choesang of the Tibet Bureau Geneva, alongside president of Tibetan community in Geneva and public.
In the evening, Tibetan MPs met with Cédric JEANNERET, a member of the Grand Council Legislature of Geneva Canton and Swiss-Tibetan Friendship Society’s French-speaking section for discussions and advocacy regarding Tibet.
On 20 October, the Representative Thinley Chukki introduced the office’s work and duties. A briefing on the United Nations framework, operational procedures, and methods for Tibet advocacy work.
