Tibetan Community of Switzerland and Liechtenstein Holds 10th Annual Maha Guru Bumtsok Prayer Festival

The 10th Annual Maha Guru Bumtsok Prayer Festival of the Tibetan Community of Switzerland and Liechtenstein was held in Wädenswil, Samstagern, from 29 to 31 May 2025. The event was presided over by the 9th Kyabje Minling Khenchen Rinpoche, Jigmey Namgyal.
The festival was also attended by Tenzin Choesang from the Tibet Bureau in Geneva.
The inaugural session began with Secretary Nyima Dolkar introducing the Rinpoche to the gathering with a brief biography. This was followed by Community President Ngedun Gyatso, who shared the history of the festival. The prayer ceremony then commenced with an address by Minling Khenchen Rinpoche, who spoke about the spiritual significance and benefits of the Maha Guru Bumtsok.
Maha Guru Bumtsok—an offering of a hundred thousand feasts to Maha Guru Padmasambhava—is held annually for the long life of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and the heads of all schools and traditions of Tibetan Buddhism. The ceremony also aims to support the fulfillment of their commitments and the well-being of all sentient beings.
