Representative Thinlay Chukki Meets President of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano to Discuss Pressing Situations inside Tibet

On 14 January 2026, Representative Thinlay Chukki from the Office of Tibet in Geneva met with Honourable Arno Kompatscher, President of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano-South Tyrol, to discuss alarming human rights and environmental situations inside Tibet.

While extending sincere gratitudes for President Arno Kompatscher’s unwavering support for Tibetan cause, Representative Chukki appealed for continued support from the President and the government of South Tyrol. President Kompatscher assured his continued support and conveyed his best wishes to His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama and Sikyong Penpa Tsering of the Central Tibetan Administration.

The meeting also included detailed discussions on several other work projects and initiatives. Sangay Kyab, the Chinese Liaison Officer from the Office of Tibet, accompanied Representative Chukki, while relevant officials from the South Tyrol autonomous government joined President Arno Kompatscher.
